David Fiore,

  • 30 years experience in the development, construction and design of commercial real estate.
  • 11 years of experience as Senior Vice President of Davis Marcus Partners where he has been responsible for acquisitions, development, leasing and overseeing property management for the Connecticut office. He also served as a Managing Partner of Philip Johnson, Ritchie and Fiore Architects in NYC where he practiced architecture for 17 years.
  • Architectural projects included the 1.7 million sq. ft. International Place in Boston and Republic Bank Center Office Tower in Houston, TX.
  • David received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Penn State University.
  • Serves as a Trustee for the Westport Country Playhouse; on the Westport Downtown Merchants Association Board of Governors; and Vestry Capital Campaign leadership at Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport, CT.

J. Mark Stroud, President of Florida Region

  • Over 25 years of commercial real estate experience in the areas of valuation, management, development, brokerage, acquisitions/dispositions and valuation.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, he served as President of the Florida Region for Davis Marcus Partners and Chief Operating Officer for Osprey Management Company, LLC. Other experience includes serving as President/CEO of Echelon Real Estate Services, LLC and as Vice President of Commercial Real Estate for Echelon International, a NYSE- traded real estate development company.
  • Currently serves on All Children's Hospital Health Systems Board and is Chairman of the Construction Task Force.
  • A licensed Real Estate Broker and a certified General Real Estate Appraiser in the state of Florida; he also holds the MAI and CCIM designations awarded by the Appraisal Institute and Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.
  • He holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Florida State University.

William McAvoy, Chief Investment Officer

  • Directs the firm's investment activities. Prior to joining Marcus Partners, served as Chief Investment Officer for 3 years at the Davis Marcus Partners acquiring in excess of $200 million of property.
  • Served for 14 years at The New Boston Real Investment Fund, as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Acquisitions directing the acquisition of more than $1.2 billion of residential and commercial properties and provided strategic portfolio direction.
  • Other experience includes consulting, acquisition and asset management work for Charles River Properties and Xerox Realty Corporation.
  • A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. McAvoy received his Masters Degree in Accounting from New York University and his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

Peter Scoba, Senior Vice President

  • 25 years experience in project management for the development and construction of commercial real estate.
  • Prior to joining the Marcus Partners, he was Senior Vice President of Construction and Development at Davis Marcus Partners. He was also responsible for tenant and base building improvements for International Place, a 1.7 million sq. ft development of the Chiofaro Company.
  • He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clarkson College of Technology and a Master's Degree in Business from Boston College School of Management.

Pete Cameron, Vice President

  • 10 years experience in Development and Brokerage.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, he was Project Director at Corcoran Jennison and Director of Development & Brokerage at The Nelson Companies. He has been involved in the entitlement & development of 800,000 square feet and over 1 million square feet of leasing transactions.
  • Pete received his Bachelor of Business in Finance from the College of William and Mary and his Master's Degree in Real Estate Development from MIT.

Jan Machnik, Senior Vice President

  • 28 years of experience in the development and construction of real estate.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, was Senior Vice President of Development at Davis Marcus Partners. In addition, he owned his own development management business. Prior to which, he worked for The Beacon Companies where he developed over 3,000 hotel rooms.
  • Jan received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering-Construction Management from North Carolina State and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering-Construction Management from MIT.

Patrick "PJ" Penrose, Vice President

  • Over 5 years of commercial real estate experience in development, property management, leasing, hospitality management and acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, he served as Development Director of the Florida region at Davis Marcus Partners. Previous positions include Project Manager and Operation Coordinator for BVG Incorporated; Development Manager for VP Development Services, Inc. and the Manager of Commercial Real Estate for Echelon Development, LLC.
  • Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of Florida, qualified CCIM Candidate and successfully passed the State of Florida General Contractor's exam.
  • He holds Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Art in Real Estate from University of Florida.

Daniel Baxter, Senior Manager

  • More than 20 years experience in project management for real estate development and construction and environmental protection.
  • Projects include tenant renovation totaling 560,000 sq. ft at Reservoir Woods, Waltham, MA; exterior building renovations of 55,000 sq. ft. at 115-119 Fourth Avenue, Needham, MA; interior renovations at Building 38 Charlestown Navy Yard.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, he was a Senior Project Manager for major capital projects at Children's Hospital Boston.
  • He has a Bachelor of Science from University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science from University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Lora Shea, Director of Finance

  • Over 20 years of experience in real estate finance and accounting.
  • Prior to joining Marcus Partners, Lora served as Controller at Lyme Properties where she was responsible for reporting, accounting and budgeting for life science-based mixed use developments. Lora held Senior Accountant roles at HallKeen Management and Winn Management, two Boston-area real estate management firms.
  • She holds a Bachelor of Science Finance from Northeastern University and Real Estate Finance and Commercial Real Estate Certificates from Boston University.

Wyndsor DePetro, Assistant Director of Investments

  • 5 years of experience in real estate analysis with emphasis on lease structure, underwriting, due diligence and credit analysis.
  • Associate Director of Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
  • He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Babson College.

Candace M. Schafer, Senior Vice President - Development

  • 17 years experience in design, construction management and real estate development in residential, commercial and mixed use projects.
  • Bachelor of Art in Art History from Northwestern University, Master of Architecture from University of Illinois, Chicago, and Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
  • District Council Chair for Urban Land Institute, Full Member of Urban Land Institute, and Member of the Inner City Product Council for Urban Land Institute.
